Stores and provides web access to community collected tenure data and manages the processes leading to the community recognition of tenure rights. Aerial or satellite imagery of the community area can be hosted using any WMS compliant map server and configured for download by the OpenTenure mobile apps. Community Server is cloud compatible and LADM compliant. 

Community Server Release 1509a includes a step by step installation guide and integrates with JasperServer Reports to support dynamic reporting requirements. There are three ways to see Community Server in action:

  1. Try out the Community Server demonstration site at demo.opentenure.org. To login use the following credentials;

User:            test

Password:   test

Note that both the user and password are case sensitive.

  1. Install the complete application stack for Community Server onto your computer and run Community Server locally. This requires the installation of several software components (Glassfish, Postgresql and PostGIS) along with configuration of the Glassfish domain. The Windows Installation Guide provides step by step instructions for installing and configuring Community Server on the Windows operating system.

  2. Download and build the source code from the Github OpenTenure repositories. To use this source code you will need to sign up for a Github account and install Git. The Github help provides informative tutorials on how to achieve these tasks. Note that Community Server uses 6 Git repositories. For details on how to manage these repositories, see the README.txt in the code repository. These repositories are under constant development by the SOLA Team. To obtain the source code for the 1509a Release, checkout the release-1509a tag.

Additional Information

  • The database used for demo.opentenure.org is only refreshed on an ad hoc basis. Any data changes you make will be seen by all users of the Community Server demonstration site until such a refresh occurs.
